Wish List

Soooooo, some of you have been asking me about things that I need in Guyana. Honestly, I can come by MOST things that one would need, except of course for Greek yogurt, goat cheese, and good toothbrushes, and I really don’t recommend mailing the first two. However, some of the things I need for my classroom and for activities I want to do with the kids are difficult to find/pretty expensive down here. This is definitely not a desperate plea for charity, or any kind of guilt trip, BUT if you felt like sending a few of the things on this list, I wouldn’t hate it 😉

-kids scissors

-Elmer’s glue

-Pencil sharpeners (just the cheap little plastic ones)

-colored chalk

-Scotch tape/wide packing tape

-pipe cleaners

-popsicle sticks

-sharpies/permanent markers

-small foam ABC puzzle mats like the one here http://www.amazon.com/Educational-Colorful-Alphabet-Number-Interlocking/dp/B0090WMRQE/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1378770081&sr=8-5&keywords=small+foam+abc+mat

-mini dry erase board like the one here http://www.amazon.com/Sparco-Marker-Melamine-Surface-SPR75620/dp/B001PME3FA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1378770393&sr=8-5&keywords=mini+dry+erase+board

-Stickers–honestly can you ever have enough? The kids go crazy for them!

-Any kind of small cheap simple game/flash cards–I already have checkers and bingo, and number flashcards.

-And probably the most important thing, children’s story books!! No need for hard cover ones, as they are heavier to mail, and make sure to ask at the post office about “media” mailing rates–supposedly much cheaper.

Other than that, I want to thank everyone that has sent me any kind of care package, letter, card, or post card! Thanks to you guys, I am all stocked up on coloring books, crayons, markers, pencils, and last but certainly not least, Hot Tamales!!

Love from Guyana 🙂
